ZD's STORY ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY

ZD stands for the opposite to the industrialized fashion industry. For the last century, our production has been artisanal and the equity of the company is completely Spanish. ZD’s headquarters has not moved since the first day of business in 1920.

ZD’s modus operandi follows the Slow Fashion philosophy. Before the term were created, ZD already produced responsibly, minimizing the impact on the environment by using biodegradable, natural and organic products free of toxic substances and eco-friendly procedures.

GARMENTS AND FABRICS

ZD is one of the few factories in the world that manufactures its own garments employing soya fiber, a material with beneficial properties for sensitive skins. Because it is an eco-friendly material, it cannot be mixed with whitening dyeing products; its color ranges from cava, the clearest, to beige, vision, graphite and black.

ZD’s garments are classic, elegant and versatile pieces that never go out of fashion. Highly durable, even after hundreds of washes, they do not lessen in quality, and their properties and contour remain the same. Because they do not have to be replaced every few months, durability directly reflects on sustainability.

Ethic consumption is becoming a universal concern, and consumers now ponder about the origin of the clothes they wear: where it is manufactured, the materials and methods employed, the working conditions in the manufacturing plants, etc. ZD follows a Km0 methodology: produced in Mataró, with local workers, and close-by suppliers.

Following ZD’s commitment to the land and social responsibility, and along with the city of Mataró, ZD launched the InserTex program, an initiative to hire unemployed or people at risk of social exclusion. This initiative covers the entire Maresme area.
